Sorensen Partners welcomes Employment Inquiries for the following positions:
Architectural/Design Staff – 2 positions – (3-5 years cumulative full-time experience working in Architecture firms) – Architectural/Design Staff will work as drafter, designer, job captain, and project manager and will report to the Principal-in-Charge. Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, physical model-making, full engagement with IDP internship process leading to registration, and knowledge of construction detailing and code research required. These positions are Architect-track and aspire to a definition of Architect inclusive of both design and technical ability. They require entrepreneurial attitude, ability to self-manage, strong organizational skills, big-picture thinking, excellence and accuracy in verbal and written communications, and interest in advancement to leadership. Desire to work in a friendly office that shares knowledge between staff and ability to achieve deadlines within business hours without weekend and overtime work are required. Staff will be client-facing.
Senior Technical Architect – 1 position – (10-30 years cumulative full-time experience) – Senior Technical Architect will work directly with Principal-in-Charge to detail all aspects of exterior and interior construction for new construction and renovation projects. This staff member will manage detail library and will work closely with all members of the office to communicate and standardize technical details that are consistent with the firm’s design vocabulary. Senior Technical Architect will participate in certain interviews and client meetings. A great enjoyment of sharing knowledge with others in the firm and ability to achieve deadlines within business hours without weekend and overtime work are essential. This position is ideal for a talented individual who is seeking some flexibility (including part-time work) in their schedule while functioning as an essential part of a friendly and growing creative firm.
Philosophically, the firm is committed to the personal health of its members, and will not expect time commitments from its staff that are in excess of a reasonable M-F work week. Professional dress (when necessary for meetings) and some schedule flexibility required.
