Mentoring Emerging Designers: Marielle Frederick
Marielle Frederick was a Designer and Intern at Sorensen Partners in 2018 and was an asset to the firm’s growth. Frederick contributed to the Sorensen Partners team as a participant in the Cambridge Public Library Central Square Branch renovation; in developing construction documents for Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corporation; supporting design work for WaveMax’s Metheun and Providence retail laundromat locations; and in providing design support for mixed-use commercial and retail space in Lawrence, MA for Pappalardo Family Realty Trust.
Frederick was trained in Fine Arts at Hunter College, Interior Design at the Art Institute of Dallas, and Architecture at Boston Architectural College. In the summers, Marielle spends time volunteering on a farm in Tennessee where she has acquired an education in working land, growing organic food, planning planting and harvest cycles, and the importance of working with nature – which drives her design approach. Marielle is a talented painter, sculptor, dancer, vocalist, and writer, and contributes to our projects for creative clients through her intimate knowledge of these fields. In the spirit of our firm’s community-centered focus, Marielle is an adept learner and participant in the communities she joins. She aspires to design delicate architecture on a civic scale, and approaches each project with humility and keen attention to the community of our clients and their collective ambitions and endeavors for greater connection and impact.
